At the core of Habitat for Humanity is our belief that every human being deserves to live in a safe, decent home. But we build more than homes; we also build opportunities. Habitat has found that although a simple, decent place to live provides the basic necessesities for a famiy, it is the hope it provides that ultimately lifts the family from proverty. Your contribution puts much more than building materials into the hands of volunteers and the partner families who work alongside them. You put hope in the hearts of your neighbors and help to bring them a sense of dignity and pride. By building the foundation for a home, you’re also building the foundation for a family’s stability. You’re fostering the kind of empowerment that increases a family’s health and well-being, educational opportunities and employment prospects.
Giving families a hand up, not a handout.
We enable deserving partner families to fully invest in their future. Your gift gives families a hand up, not a handout. Habitat partner families invest between 350 and 500 hours of sweat equity, working in partnership with volunteers as they build their home and homes for other Habitat partner families. Each family also learns every aspect of the home ownership process, guided and mentored by Habitat staff and volunteers, to ensure they become successful, long-term homeowners. Each home is sold—at no profit to Habitat—via a no-interest or subsidized-interest loan. Mortgage payments help to fund homes for future Habitat partner families.

How You Can Contribute
- Give a financial gift. Mail your check to Kittitas County Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 873, Ellensburg, WA, 98926.
- Click Donate to go to the Habitat for Humanity International website. Follow the instructions to donate online. Be sure to designate Kittitas County Habitat for Humanity as the recipient of your donation.
- Donate to our Habitat Store. We need building materials, tools, furniture, appliances and many other items. The list of items we need is on the Habitat Store page.
- Donate a house or land.
- Donate a car, truck, boat or other vehicle to Cars for Homes™, Habitat for Humanity's official car donation program.
You may think donating a vehicle couldn't add up to much, but Habitat for Humanity East Bay has raised almost $500,000 since 1988! Even a junk vehicle destined for the salvage yard can benefit Habitat when it's donated for recycling. Your vehicle will be sold through a national network to get the highest possible price and 80% of the net proceeds from your donation will go directly to Kittitas County Habitat for Humanity!
